Nepal (20000-2007)

We have undertaken three projects in Nepal.

Sited in the Kathmandu valley, the first was actually a strengthening scheme to ensure a watercourse did not flood land where a new orphanage was to be built, and also that it stopped being polluted so that locals had clean water to draw upon. The project was a great success and the children are happily housed in their new home.

The second was in a village called Sikhor, where the 750 inhabitants needed clean water, despite the fact a river ran directly in front of them. In spite of the best efforts of Maoist guerrillas to cause disruption, our local partner managed to install all fifteen hand pumps, ensuring there was a protective fence around each of them to protect from straying livestock.

The final project we ran in Nepal was in a small village in the Kathmandu valley that needed a number of shallow wells, all of which were installed and helped the local people enormously.
