Busu, Barrie Chiefdom, Pujehun
Busu village is an impoverished subsistence farming community of approximately 700 people, that had no sanitation or clean water – water was sourced from a local muddy river, meaning that dysentery was commonplace. We have raised funds to provide two water boreholes, four twin (male/female) community eco-sanitation toilets at different locations within the village, and cassava and groundnut livelihood support. Additional funding has been secured to provide two pumps to complete the boreholes.
The boreholes have been drilled and capped, the eco-sanitation toilets are completed and the first crop of cassava and groundnut has been harvested. This will transform the wellbeing of the whole community, giving them the good health to be able to take up education and develop further livelihood opportunities.
